Same as everyone else
You will not only get charged the extra VAT and admin fee, but if belong delivered by An Post there is over a week's delay whilst they sort this out.WHY are non Irish sites allowed to use .ie. It wouldn't be so bad if they were properly registered for VAT here, or at the very least made it clear that there are extra charges. From all these reviews it is really obvious that espares are aware of the problems but don't do anything about them/

Avoid this crowd at all costs
Avoid this crowd at all costs. Bought a (supposedly) genuine Dyson hoover part 8 months ago. Had to pay the tax. The part never worked properly and packed up completely recently. Called them to be told it was out of warranty after 3 months and refused to change it. (Dyson's warranty on the part is actually 12 months).

BEWARE! Some English companies in Ireland will do ANYTHING to hide they're not in the single market
I had known Screwfix was one to be avoided - one of those companies who won't admit they keep their stock in England and you have to pay to get it so I was furious to find the 2 fridge bulbs I'd bought for a tenner (VAT inc) from eSpares were sold by ScrewUfix. That only got my attention when I got a demand from Customs & Excise for €9 (VAT & Admin charge) on goods I'd paid €10 on including VAT. BE TOLD!Over a day later and I have received no reply to my complaint. Probably wondering how to placate a ripped-off customer threatening them with the Dept of Trade, Customs, the Garda Fraud Squad and the wrath of their mammies. But I still haven't got my money back.

Delay and customs charges
It isn't obvious from the website, which is an Irish site, that the spares you want will be sent from Britain. With Britain being outside the European Union, that means delays and customs charges.

As with other reviews
As with other reviews, DO NOT ORDER from eSpares. They were a reputable company but, according to their .ie website, they add on Irish Vat (an extra 3 %) to the UK Vat. Yet, when the item arrives in Ireland and because they have not registered with Irish Customs to indicate that they have deducted Irish VAT, Irish Customs must charge VAT at 23%. So eSpares are pocketing 23% VAT for themselves. Is this a SCAM? Also, they debit your account as Connect Distribution Services which along with Espares Limited, Electruepart Limited and CDSL Group Limited went into administration on 20 March 2023. REPEAT; DO NOT BUY FROM ESPARES.IE OR ESPARES.CO.UK

Wish I had read the reviews before…
Wish I had read the reviews before ordering. Although they are Vat registered in Ireland and state they charge 23% Vat for irish customers, they are incapable of completing the documentation correctly declaring Irish Vat was paid, resulting in the order being held by customs and an additional Vat and AnPost processing fee being charged. They are refusing to refund the charges, including the anpost fee, even though they are entirely to blame for the charges.

Avoid at all costs
Like many others, I ordered from the .ie site in good faith, paid all the related tax & delivery fee. Received an email to say the item was dispatched with a link to track it - tracking didn't work, got onto the chat function & was told no tracking available as via Royal Mail so why is it even included in the email?? Over a week later, I got an email from An Post looking for customs charges and yet another fee for delivery to be paid. Reached out to the customer service team who didn't read my email & sent a generic, templated email which didn't even address my query. I then replied & waited yet again for a response when once again, my request for a refund wasn't addressed. Still no resolution weeks later. Wish I'd read the reviews here first.

I ordered parts from espares.ie
I ordered parts from espares.ie, I paid for them,a week later I received notification from a post that I had to pay import duties on my items. I contacted espares and requested a refund as I thought I was buying from an Irish company. I received notification today 18 apr that they were in administration, and they couldn’t give me a refund, what a sham avoid at all costs. They are now a part of screwfix, so beware.

THIS WEBSITE WOULD LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE…
THIS WEBSITE WOULD LEAD YOU TO BELIEVE ITS AN IRISH COMPANY.NOT AN IRISH WEBSITE AND ADDITIONAL CHARGES WERE INCURRED AND NOT EXPECTED.Follow up...In fairness following my posting of this message above espares made contact to say they were registered for Vat in Ireland but their goods were shipped from the UK - they refunded the VAT on my original order however this did not fully cover the additional cost incurred from anpost.
